Episode 19 Part 3
COUNCILMAN Pacheco does paper-work. EVA: Honey? DR. PACHECO: Yes. EVA: Do you remember that sandwich shop I told you about? DR. PACHECO: Yeah. EVA: Somebody broke in and stole everything. DR. PACHECO: That's odd. Why would anyone want to break into a sandwich shop? EVA: Exactly. It seems like someone is trying to put the owners out of business. Do you know why someone would do that? DR. PACHECO: Maybe the property is worth something. Where is that shop located? EVA: It's on, um, Sixth Street right across from the Post Office. DR. PACHECO: That area may be up for redevelopment. Let me take a look. EVA: Thanks, Hon. Tony at the counter. COUNSELOR: Now let me understand this. You want to get a pharmacist's license in this country? TONY: Yes. The COUNSELOR is a friendly sort. COUNSELOR: Were you a pharmacist before, right? TONY: Yes. COUNSELOR: Where did you get your license? TONY: In Korea. I was a pharmacist for five years. I have a lot of experience. So I don't need to take any exams. Right? COUNSELOR: I'm sorry. You have to take the TOEFL Exam. Many people have to take it in order to go to college or to transfer licenses like this one. TONY: Do I really have to? COUNSELOR: Yes, you do. Look, let me get you some information. TONY: Thank you. Tony is at a table looking at the brochure. Michael (with glasses) and Bill come in. MICHAEL: Hi, Dad. TONY: Hey, son. MICHAEL: What's that? TONY: It's the application for a special test. I don't want to do it. BILL: What is it for? TONY: (hesitating) It's the test to show I know English. So I can get my pharmacist license here. BILL: So what's the problem? TONY: I don't want to take this test. BILL: But sometimes doing what makes you happy takes work. TONY: I don't have to be a pharmacist. I own a sandwich shop now. There is nothing wrong with selling sandwiches. BILL: No, there's nothing wrong with selling sandwiches if that's what you want to do. I think you are saying you are not going to be a pharmacist because you are too scared to take this test. Tony thinks hard. WIZARD: Freeze!
