'Wh' words are usually used to ask questions.

'What' asks for something: What is your name?

'Where' asks the location of something: Where is the bathroom?

'When' asks the time of an event: When are you coming home?

'Who' asks the identity of a person: Who let the dogs out?

'Why' asks the reason for something: Why are you here?

'How' asks the process of something: How do you make a movie?
