MARTA:
Okay, Benjamin. Maybe it will be all right. I can use some help. You can move in as soon as you are ready. But don't get any ideas.
 
Benjamin scores another victory.
 
The house is a mess. Benjamin is on the couch eating a bag of chips and watching TV. Viviana does her homework. Marta brings Benjamin his dinner.
 
BENJAMIN:
TV dinner? Again?
 
MARTA:
I don't have time to cook, Benjamin. I thought you said you would do some of the cooking.
 
BENJAMIN:
All right, all right. Just bring me a beer then.
 
MARTA:
No, you get your own beer. I need to make a phone call.
 
Suddenly the TV goes dead.
 
BENJAMIN:
 
Hey! What happened?
 
He tries the remote but nothing. Marta picks up the phone.
 
MARTA:
 
The phone's dead. What's going on?
 
VIVIANA:
Dad, did you mail the bills?
 
He doesn't answer.
 
MAR(concerned) Yes, Benjamin. Did you mail all the bills?
 
BENJAMIN:
(Oh shoot. I'm caught) Uh, no. But what's the big deal? It's only been two months. Okay. Maybe three. It's not like they'll shut off the electricity or anything, huh? Uh, oh.
 
BZZZZZ. Suddenly the lights go out.
 
MARTA:
Benjamin Alfonso -- get out. Get out! Don't come back.
