Women today are involved in many aspects of society. Traditionally, women's participation in society had been limited to home and family matters. They were mothers and wives, and participated little in areas such as politics and business.

In the last few decades, the role of women has expanded greatly. Women are involved in every aspect of society including medicine, sports, business, aerospace, etc. Women and men who come to the United States from other countries find themselves adjusting to this challenging new reality.
